Laura Linney has become one of the nation's most well-known actors. Her fame is due to her ability to portray strong characters, but equally vulnerable. When she was a teenager, spending summers at her father's house she discovered a love in the theater. Then she went on to study at Brown University before moving on to Juilliard School. Her career began on Broadway shortly after her graduation, she appeared in film within two years. She also appeared on TV within a year. Her appearances have been in a variety of movies, television shows and stage shows since. In her long career, she's won several awards. Among them are 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. In spite of all the nominations, she has a passion for acting and has performed on stage and screen.
